AmineTech

Ever been to AnimeTech
For me, I've been there dozens of times always staring at thru their glass of Anime/Manga figures. Of course product like these the price of sky high! I never think highly about those action figures they sell, I know how a true good quality figure should be, but at the very least, I thought that the anime DVD that they sell was 100% imported, with great translation, clear image etc, with everything perfect.

Recently, I fell in love another Japanese Visual Novel titled Fate/Night Stay, unfortunately I can’t read Japanese and the only resolution was to buy its anime and watch with Chinese or English translation. Being overly obsessed with it, I sought to be the highest DVD quality there is to be available in the local market, thus I went to AnimeTech to seek for the DVD, indeed they have, and it costs RM59.90. For me it was expensive since I know the price of a pirated DVD such as this would cost in the Petaling Street, most of the time never exceeds RM20.00. I asked my sister to buy it, that night, excitedly I watched. And guess WHAT!

The DVD that my sister bought for me...

The images were blurry with pixels! I thought it was the DVD player's problem when I tried it on my PS2, it was still the same, refusing to believe the fact that AmineTech sell low quality product I tried to seek another way to contradict this fact, I click “title menu” and to me DISMAY, the phrase ‘play all’, they spell it, ‘paly all’!
Oh my God, how can this be happening to me! Unsettled, I clicked the pathetic phrase “paly all” and started to watch the Anime, and there it goes again! The translation, apparently it sort of has a mind of it own, especially the English translation, when the Japanese voice speak the English word ‘master’, that translation was just translated it into ‘Magician’!

Take note at the word 'FAKE' on the blue greenish piece of paper which was approved by the Malaysian Government, HOW INRONIC!

What the HECK!!! All these evidence were pointing only to one fact, THIS IS A PIRATED DVD! How can a company like AmineTech who has 5 branches all around the busiest shopping malls in this country sell CHEAP PRODUCTS! I can get quality like these at Petaling Street with half of its price!

Filled with great disappointment, I called the Mid Valley branch where my sister bought the DVD.
“Hello, how may I help you?” A female voice asked softly with Chinese accent in it. Too soft, how she convince customers with voices like these! Geez! And yes, I’m very angry right now.
“Hi,” I greeted unhappily, “Today there’s a customer bought a product by the title of Fate/Night Stay, and I just got home watched the DVD and the quality was not as I expected…”
“Huh? Erm…please wait for a minute,” the poor girl said weakly, and she went to get someone more superior to her, after waiting for more than a minute, a male voice finally spoke up, “hello, how may I help you?”
ARGHH! These people are so……!!!!
I stared to explain everything I found, and, “Erm…this was the 1st time customer ever complain about things like these maybe, you would like to come over and we discuss about it?”
WHAT THE HECK!? Still I agreed, it was much better if I complain to them head on and show them their pathetic product. Then we hung up.

The next day, after been thru so many troubles, eventually, I arrived. Waiting for like 10 minutes the sales boy settled his sales with a young and ignorant customer, I finally explained my presence. The boy went panicked, not knowing what to do; quickly he went to ask a much older looking lady for help. The lady came, and AGAIN, I explained, the lady, started to counter my every fact with what she thought to be a good explanation.
“If you really want a 100% clear without problem DVD, it costs you at least RM119.00,”
HUH? WHAT?! “Then what about those which cost less than RM119.00? Aren’t they all the same?”

She did not reply.
“I am very very disappointed with your company, I pay the triple of the price and I get some thing with quality equivalent to pirated stuff that can be bought in Petaling Street?! This is how you guys do business?” I asked, in disbelieved.
“This is not our problem, it’s the supplier, and we can’t do anything about it,”
HECK! What explanation is that?!
“The problem now, is that I can’t refund,”
“SO what do you propose I do?” I asked again.
“Well, you can exchange for another title, I will show you,” and she lead me to the a pile of anime DVDs, I again and again hoping to find some interesting titles, but sadly, there is none. After glancing around for like 15 minutes, I eventually, asked the lady again, “Apparently I can’t find any title that is interesting why don’t you one propose to me?”
The lady did as I told, and asked me what king of genre I like and the ending I prefer, then proposed the title please, Teacher who had been aired by ANIMAX. What the hell, that love story between teacher and student, EW….give me a break! I just shook my head. And she proceeded to introduce more disgusting love stories related anime, eeee-yak! What do I looked like?! Geez!
“I don’t think I like love stories like these,” she continued to introduced other titles, and sadly, most of the Anime she introduced are aired on ANIMAX. For every title she introduced I just shook my head and said, “I watched them on ANIMAX,”
I gave up, so was she, “So, when will the original Fate/Night Stay will arrive?”
“You wanna wait? It usually takes months…”
“Does it take more than a year?” I interrupted, getting more impatient as I had to rush for my tuition in Petaling Street.
“Well, sometimes it does…”
I hesitated. “Never mind, when it arrived, informed me,”
“You really wanna wait?”
I nodded firmly.
“Then please give me your name and telephone number,”
“The DVD?”
“You keep it and bring it back to exchange when the original arrived, try not to scratch the DVD,”
“Then you better sealed it,”
“Right,” and you know what she used to seal it? Just a plain plastic which one can open and the DVD anytime, what kind of SEAL was she thinking? If the DVD is really unintentionally scratched them it all my problem!
“Huh?! Just like that? Don’t you think you should double seal it so that I can’t ever opened it?”
“Like that is enough,”
“……” speechless I was.
FINE! I will WAIT!
“You will be working here for a long time, right?”
“Yes, I will be here,”
Defeated, I left the place, with anger disappointment and unsatisfied.

I never thought that such proper looking chains of stores would be so deceiving!
Most of the time we would just think that the price we pay is equivalent to the quality we receive. (Just like Fullmetal Alchemists) Well, at least that was what I think. But somehow, these people manipulated the illusion that most Malaysians have, and used it cheat the ignorant ones! And sadly, Malaysians are the ones who prefer to keep quiet even though they are being bullied, not wanting to create more troubles.
How more pathetic can we consumers be!

Beware this logo!

Here are some advices especially to those who live in Malaysia and Anime a lot:
DON’T EVER GO TO ANIMETECH AND THINK THAT THEIR AMINES ARE ORIGINAL FROM JAPAN! CHECK THE PRICES BEFORE BUYING IT! BELOW RM100.00 IS CHEAP STUFF! Believe me, i don't want you guys ended like me. SO pathetic!

Note no.8 : Built-in G-sensor => Gravity Sensor, whoa G-sensor! How cool is that! According the Operation guide, it says that, it can track you movement and calcultae the distance, steps, and calories that you had burn. Specially designed for those who are ahletletes and loves music, which unfortunately i am not. How ironic... And it cost somewhere RM500! Walau!

Honestly, this Sony MP3 is the only thing that can be considered as the most advance stuff in my whole household, the reason is simple, as long it is usable, we use it, we can't afford to follow the trend, we are just a working middle class family.

Maybe this was the very 1st time i ever won something that worth more that RM50, i was so worry that Astro forget about my prize when i did not received the prize on the date which i was supposed to, i persuaded my aunt to called the Astro hotline service to ask about it, it seems that the courier service have not yet send the item. The operator asked me to waited for a few more days.

This is so weird! Isn't that a courier service supposed to send the item ASAP once they got it? After 2 days i finally got the item, not without some mistakes for the courier company again. I got the item opened it only to realised that what a Creative Zen Ipod sort of thing! Worth double times than my MP3, seeking for answers i found an envolope enclosed with in the package, it was addressed to someone by the name of Lam-don't know what-Hoe ( i think), also by Astro! What the heck! I had the thought of opening the I-pod thingy, greedy thinking, but eventually i called the courier company to take back the stuff. Heartbroken, the guy come and took the stuff only to give the MP3, i opened and yeap, it's from Sony, no more mistakes. SIgh, despite so, i am still content that i got something worth RM500, i guess.
